Physical Education

The Physical and Health Education Department share the ultimate goal of providing students with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead a healthy active lifestyle. Activities are designed to give students multiple opportunities to develop an appreciation of health and fitness. This philosophy will improve the quality of life as a result of increased participation in a variety of health enhancing behaviors and fitness activities.

  1. Motor Skill Knowledge and Use: Demonstrate proficiency in a variety of motor skills and movement patterns.
  2. Motor Skills Analysis: Apply knowledge of concepts, principles, strategies and tactics related to movement and performance to analyze and improve performance of self and/or others in selected skills.
  3. Physical Fitness: Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to achieve and maintain a health-enhancing level of physical activity and fitness.
  4. Affective Qualities and Social Interaction: Exhibit responsible personal and social behavior that respects and promotes success of self and others.
