Take A Closer Look

The town of Colchester is served by the Colchester School District, which has approximately 2,200 students. In addition to Colchester residents, tuition students are accepted from the Islands (Grand Isle, North Hero, and South Hero) and other districts.

The district operates five separate school buildings and an administrative building. We employ about two hundred teachers and fifteen administrators.

Our school district is renowned for its implementation of differentiated instruction as part of its efforts to provide all students with meaningful and appropriate educational opportunities. Colchester High School graduates attend a wide range of colleges and universities throughout the state and country.

2024 Report to the Community

The Colchester School District's Annual Report is mailed to every household in the Colchester community in February. It includes a message from the superintendent, information about important investments and initiatives throughout the district, enrollment and assessment data, highlights from alumni and current students, as well as facts and figures for the upcoming school budget vote that takes place on Town Meeting Day.
