Family Infant and Toddler Program

Colchester School District site

home

Colchester School District, working in conjunction with the Family, Infant and Toddler Project, offers services to children, birth to three, who show an observable and measurable delay.

Areas of concern may be gross or fine motor, speech and language acquisition, social or cognitive development. Children who are born prematurely or have a diagnosed condition are also eligible for services.

Our Early Interventionist, Nancy Smith will come to your home to meet with you and your family.  She will conduct a five domain assessment to capture an overall picture of your child’s development.

A second professional will come to your home and evaluate the distinct area of concern.  Recommendations will be made after reviewing the results of the evaluations.

An Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) will be developed based on the needs of the child and the family. Occupational, Physical, Developmental, and Speech and Language Therapy are all services that can be provided in your home or Colchester based childcare center for free.
Your Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) will be reviewed every 6 months and new goals are written as necessary.  If your child reaches all of their goals and is showing age appropriate skills, they can exit the program at any time.  If at age 2 ½ your child is still displaying an observable and measurable delay, a seamless transition will begin into the Early Essential Education (EEE) program.
