Welcome to the UMS technology web page!
I'm Shirley Sebo, and I've been the computer technologist here since 1999.

Every classroom at UMS has at least two multimedia computers.  In addition, our library and adjoining computer lab have twelve personal computers for student use. The computer lab is also home to our scanner, laser printer, cd burners, digital cameras, and video cameras.  All this equipment is available daily for student use. The kids enjoy their lab time during Library, when they have an opportunity to “play” the assortment of educational programs available.  Many kids are quite computer savvy, but for some, this is their first experience with technology, and we try our best to make it an enjoyable one. Computer etiquette and safety are stressed.  For details, click here

  TECHNOLOGY AND  2ND GRADERS

Exciting things are in store for UMS second graders this year! In place of keyboarding, students will have "lab time" for a portion of the school year. During this time, they will learn Internet Safety, basic internet use, simple webquests, introduction to MS Word and PowerPoint, computer basics, and keyboarding basics. This will hopefully help give them the tools they need to feel comfortable in the world of technology.  Click here to view the websites visited during technology class.

HELP
US RECYCLE!

UMS participates in a great print cartridge and cell phone recycling program called  Funding Factory. Send your used cell phones and empty print cartridges to UMS, and we'll redeem them for new technology for our school. You can also feel good about the part you're  playing in preserving our environment for our most valuable resources - our kids.

Kids and Parents! www.NetSmartzKids.org is a great website dedicated to teaching children about internet safety. It does not link to any outside sources. You can trust that this site is safe for your children.
