       The Latest from the Library

On February 12th, this group of second graders   participated in the first Parent/Child Book Discussion Group. The book discussed was The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner. Mrs. Flanagan, the UMS librarian, led the discussion. Everyone had a great time.

HAPPY 100!
The UMS students celebrated the 100th day of school on Monday, February 4th. Mrs. Anderson and her kindergarten students donned colorful handmade 100 glasses for this photo. The school hallways are decorated with examples of the many ways you can count to 100, and the many things you can count to 100 too! Make sure you take a look on your next visit!

as a part of their Harvest Celebration, Mrs. Anderson's kindergarten class enjoyed a special musical appearance by the talented Mr. Anderson.  He serenaded the students with many classic tunes, including that old favorite: "Don't Stick Your Finger In Your Ear."

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!

All the students at Union Memorial School would like to thank Kohl's Cares for Kids and Fletcher Allen Health Care for their generosity, in providing everyone with a new bike helmet! Thanks for helping keep kids safe!

FLAT KINDERGARTENERS

Mrs. Helfrich's kindergarten students celebrated Jeff Brown's book Flat Stanley by creating their own flat kindergarteners. In December, the class attended "The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley" at the Flynn Theater in Burlington.
