There are so many wonderful things that we do and celebrate in first grade. A few things that we do are have a daily morning meeting, write and share stories during writing workshop, play a variety of math games, learn about what good readers do and of course have fun! I have wonderful parent volunteers that help in the class during reading and Four Winds. I really appreciate their time and support in the classroom.

My name is Tammy Buckingham Davis. I am a first grade teacher at UMS. In the past, I have taught second grade, fourth grade and multi-age third and fourth grade in Colchester. This will be my 11th year working for Colchester Schools. I am originally from a small town in Northern New York. I attended SUNY Potsdam College and studied Psychology and Elementary Education. I received my Masters of Education from St. Michael's College in December of 2003. I live in Colchester with my husband Jeff, our 3 year old son Zachary, and our daughter Anya who was born in February. My passion is kids and teaching and I am so fortunate to be a member of the UMS staff. |
