Policies

The Colchester School District regards student safety as one of its top priorities.  With that in mind, at the beginning of each school year the school district requests permission from parents with regard to:

• Releasing photographs and information related to students to the media;
• Videotaping, filming, and/or photographing students in connection with school related activities;
• Displaying student Art work or projects on school grounds;
• Publishing student photos or work on the school's website.*

*No individual photograph of a student, or group photo in which students are individually identified, will be published on the Internet. For more information, please review our Acceptable Use Policy Applying to the Colchester School District's Network and the Internet (Policy # G10).

In addition, the school district requests permission from parents so that students may participate in school related surveys (such as, but not limited to, the Youth Risk Behavior Survey and School Climate surveys).

The Release of Student Directory Information and Permission Form:

• Is distributed to all parents/guardians at the beginning of each school year;
• Is available in every Colchester school;
