Welcome to the Nurse's Corner

Just an update to everyone: As of today, we have had at least 10 cases of pneumonia this year, with 3 new cases this week. The upper respiratory viruses this year seem to settle in the lungs rapidly. If your child has a cough that brings up a lot of mucus and won’t go away, especially with any fever, please have them checked by their clinician.

If your child is running a fever, remember that they should have a normal temperature, without any medications, for at least 24 hours before they return to school. I have seen a lot of relapses when the children try to do too much too soon.

If you send cough drops with your child, please enclose a note and have the child bring them to the nurse’s office. I need to know when any medications, even over the counter medications, are in the school. Sometimes other children think of them as candy and want to share. It is hard for children of this age not to share and it is not OK to share any form of medication.

Thank you all for you caring and help.

Remember to call me at 802.264.5923 and leave me a message if your child is going to be late or miss school. Please leave a reason for the absence as well.

Be Kind, Be Safe and Do Your Best!
