Welcome to the Nurse's Office!

Let me introduce myself. I am the nurse at Porters Point School, Mary Axworthy. I am here Monday-Friday, so feel free to call me with any health concerns with your child.  We ask that you alert us if your child has been home with a contagious illness. It helps us to identify others who are ill.  My phone number is 651-9408. If no answer, you may leave a confidential voice mail.  

Sometimes parents are unsure whether to keep their children home, or send them to school. Here are some helpful guidelines that are suggested:

• Fever, over 100 degrees

• Diarrhea or vomiting within the past 24 hours                                                                               

• Persistent sore throat, with fever or enlarged tonsils/glands

• Undetermined rash

• Reddened, itchy eyes with purulent discharge

• Suspected/known head lice
