The last full week of school is spent at Camp Tara - Holy Cross where the students work in multi-grade small groups of eight to ten children. The  students experience learning around them, not just a typical daily schedule.  Project Inside Out is a school program which challenges students to apply basic skills in an alternative school setting at Camp Holy Cross-Tara in Malletts Bay. Students have the opportunity to explore and expand the basic school curriculum in a variety of hands-on activities and life experiences.

Project Inside Out also provides an opportunity for teachers, parents, community  members and various performing artists to work together with and for the children of Porters Point School. During the 2005/2006 school year approximately150 adults were involved in making the program a success for the 26th consecutive year. Some parents have remained involved with Project Inside Out for many years even though their children have moved to another school.

Project Inside Out is totally funded by the money students earn through fundraising  and donations from members of the community. Selling wrapping paper, ribbon, gift tags, etc. through Sally Foster  is the major fundraiser and it is the only one for Project Inside Out where children are asked to 'sell'. Even though it seems that the children are involved  in a lot of fundraising projects throughout the year, we ask that you please support this one for Project Inside Out. Parents and community support  have made Project Inside Out the wonderful and unique program it has been for more than 25 years

Each year second graders enter a contest for the Project Inside Out t-shirt design.
