Kente Cloth Designs

The fourth and fifth grade students have examined and discussed examples of authentic kente cloth weavings in their art classes. We discussed vocabulary that pertains to weaving as well as continued to study line, one of the Elements of Design. Students have used lines to create geometric shapes and patterns that are reminiscent of the bold and colorful kente cloth weavings from Ghana, Africa.
