ILLNESS TIPS:
NEW PROCEDURE
All calls informing the
school of an absence
should be made to the nurse at 264-5904,
not the front office.
This will provide the school and families with accurate information and
guidance regarding illnesses.
Be prepared to leave
your child's name, teacher, reason for absence. Homework requests
can also be left with the nurse.
REMINDER: ALL CONTAGIOUS ILLNESSES
SHOULD BE REPORTED TO THE NURSE
Chicken pox, Strep Throat,
Pertussis (whooping cough), coxsackie (hand, foot mouth disease) and
Fifth's disease are examples of illnesses you should notify the nurse of
asap.

ASTHMA
Many MBS students have inhalers for asthma that are
used only occasionally. During the spring, the PE department has a
fitness challenge test which coincides with our recess long trail walks.
This extra running may require the use of an inhaler that otherwise
would not be needed. If you suspect this may occur, it is best to
contact your physician early, get an extra inhaler and order as
described in the medication procedure. (useful links and medication
tips) |
