Welcome to Room 180’s web page. We have nineteen wonderful third graders. This year we’ll study map skills, Native Americans, communities, animal adaptations, the solar system, and magnetism and electricity. In the second half of the year we’ll have a biography night and perform in a Solar System play. The first semester in Mrs.
Eaton’s room is always a busy one. We start the year
learning about animal adaptations and habitats in science. We visit the Malletts Bay woods to look for evidence of
habita In the fall we also follow the
steps of inquiry science to make our own unique glue; a messy but fun and
interesting endeavor. In the second
trimester we move on t We also continue to do lots of reading and writing. We write and word process poems and pieces for our writing portfolios. We work on procedures, reading responses,. Our first book projects were creative and exciting. Everyday Math is moving along quickly. We'll work on multiplication and division and learn our facts. We will be learning about map skills. We will use compasses to find directions and ended our study with a treasure hunt on the playground for a chest filled with “gold” left by Black Beard the pirate!
