Health InsuranceThe Vermont Education Health Initiative (VEHI) is a large, non-profit purchaser of health care plans for Vermont's school employees. This self-funded, fully-insured purchasing trust is managed jointly by the Vermont School Boards Insurance Trust (VSBIT) and the Vermont-National Education Association (Vermont-NEA). VEHI purchases health plans on behalf of Vermont's public school employees, including teachers, administrators, secretaries, custodians, and other school district employees. Colchester School District support staff employees who are eligible for health insurance have a choice between two of Blue Cross Blue Shield's health plans (a.k.a. VEHI's Dual Option Plan):

It is a plan set-up by your employer that allows you to save tax dollars on money deducted from your paycheck which is used to pay for health insurance premiums and to pay for out-of-pocket, non-insured health care and/or dependent day care expenses.
