The Writers' Workshop

A valuable resource not available at most high schools, the CHS Writers' Workshop offers students of all ability levels a place to receive assistance on any piece of writing they may be assigned. No assignment is off limits, and students regularly get help with many different types of writing, including first-year "Essential Writings," college essays, lab reports, Advanced Placement thesis papers, and even personal "free time" writing. The workshop provides a constructive work environment in a small setting that allows for direct one-on-one tutoring. Students may come to the Writers' Workshop to receive guidance in all aspects of the writing process—from brainstorming and outlining all the way through proofreading and editing. Drop-ins are always welcome; however, students are encouraged to sign up for an appointment in advance to ensure that space will be available.
