Golfing on School Property

The Colchester School Board encourages community groups to use school facilities for educational, civic, cultural, or recreational purposes.  We are responsible for the repair, maintenance, and operation of all school district buildings and grounds.  Our goal is to keep all systems operating and in good repair.

The use of golfing equipment on school property, however, can cause problems.  Divots created in the grass from swinging clubs can cause bare areas and erosion problems.  Lost golf balls and tees produce litter and they can become lodged in our lawn mowers, or become projectiles that damage property or could injure a child.  The property belongs to all of us and we need to respect the primary use of the facility, which is for children.

If you are golfing on school property, please try to find your lost golf balls and make sure to pick up your tees.  If possible, attempt to replace/fill your divots.

With your help, we can keep our grounds in good repair and safe for our students.
